The Challenge

The public sector in Latin America (LATAM) is one of the fastest-growing regions globally for technology development, yet the successful adoption and implementation of open-source technology at scale requires a robust cultural foundation.

Red Hat Global Government approached us to design and deliver a bespoke learning offer that would prime the LATAM public sector agencies for this transition.

The challenge was to create a comprehensive learning experience that would resonate across diverse cultures and languages, focusing on the optimal conditions needed for open-source technology to thrive in the public sector. Our task was to provide a deeply engaging, multilingual educational experience that would prepare LATAM public sector leaders for the digital transformation ahead.

Architecting Culture

We created and delivered a two-day online conference tailored to the needs of the LATAM public sector, focusing on the theory, implementation, and case studies of open culture.
Our role extended beyond content delivery; we also designed and built a custom digital knowledge center, complete with forums, a social feed, and conference replays, all white-labeled for Red Hat. This platform served as a long-term resource for participants, enabling ongoing learning and community building.
The conference was delivered in English, with live translations into Spanish and Portuguese, ensuring accessibility across the region. Despite the challenges of less interaction due to the conference format, we facilitated Q&A sessions that allowed for meaningful engagement and knowledge exchange.

The Transformation

Using our multidimensional approach to change

Our work resulted in a significant transformation for LATAM public sector leaders, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive open-source technology adoption in their organizations.

By focusing on the cultural conditions required for successful digital transformation, we helped participants understand that technology implementation must be preceded by a cultural shift.

This understanding is crucial for ensuring that new technologies are not only adopted but are sustainable and impactful in the long term.

The conference’s success was evident in the active engagement of 75 public sector leaders from 12 LATAM countries, who gained valuable insights into open culture and its role in driving innovation and efficiency in government operations.

What Set Us Apart

What sets our approach apart is our deep understanding of the unseen factors that influence the success of technology adoption. We recognize that the vast majority of technology and software organizations overlook the critical need to establish a supportive cultural environment before implementing software solutions. Our ability to connect the dots between organizational culture, leadership, workflow, and digital transformation is what allowed us to create a conference experience that was not only educational but transformative. We also navigated the complexities of delivering content in multiple languages with real-time translations, ensuring that the message of open culture resonated with every participant.

You may be asking "Is a project like this worth the investment?"

Yes, investing in a project like this is highly worthwhile. The return on investment extends far beyond the immediate outcomes of the conference.

By laying a strong cultural foundation for open-source technology adoption, LATAM public sector leaders are now equipped to begin the strategy to drive sustainable digital transformation across their organizations.

The long-term benefits include increased efficiency, improved collaboration, and a more agile public sector that can better serve the needs of its citizens.

The ROI & Strategic Value

For the participating LATAM public sector agencies, the conference provided a strategic foundation in open-source technology, empowering leaders with the knowledge needed to drive digital transformation within their organizations. This not only facilitated immediate improvements but also set the stage for sustainable growth and innovation in public services.

The project provided public sector leaders in LATAM with critical education on open-source technology and open culture, directly leading to an informed and engaged client base. This priming ensures smoother adoption and implementation of Red Hat’s solutions, creating long-term client relationships and reducing onboarding time.

Participants are now better prepared to implement open-source technology in their organizations, paving the way for successful digital transformation across LATAM.

The creation of a digital knowledge center provides a lasting resource for ongoing education and community building, ensuring that the impact of the conference extends far beyond the two days of live sessions.
